Located in Chongqing’s core business district, this project provides comprehensive
BIPV solutions for large commercial building complexes, covering building facades,
rooftops, and skylight systems. The project fully integrates Chongqing’s unique
“Mountain City” topographic features and subtropical monsoon climate conditions,
employing our most advanced ultra-large commercial building BIPV technology to
achieve a “three-dimensional power generation, intelligent business” green building
model, becoming the largest single commercial building BIPV project in Southwest
China and providing typical demonstration for Chongqing’s construction of National
Green Finance Reform and Innovation Pilot Zone.

The latest curtain walls reduce building heating requirements by 40.8% compared to ordinary glass. Curtain walls also improve the efficiency of lighting and thus reduce lighting costs, contributing to tenant electricity cost reductions of 30% on average. The high self-consumption ratio maximizes economic benefits by offsetting expensive commercial electricity during peak business hours, while photovoltaic glass regulates indoor lighting for enhanced comfort, creating a 15-20% green building rental premium.

 There are no clear guidelines for issues like required ventilation shafts, hurricanes, or severe wind resistance requirements for a roof, making professional maintenance critical. The 28,000㎡ photovoltaic glass curtain wall and 10,000㎡ rooftop system require quarterly visual inspections, semi-annual professional cleaning, and annual electrical system testing. The integrated building automation system provides predictive maintenance alerts, while the Grade 16 wind resistance design minimizes weather-related maintenance needs.

The 6.8-year payback period is competitive for ultra-large BIPV installations considering the dual benefits of building envelope replacement and power generation. With annual electricity cost savings of ~$450,000 and 35% reduction in overall building complex operating costs, the project generates multiple value streams including carbon trading revenue (~$22,500 annually) and green building rental premiums, creating substantial long-term economic benefits beyond the payback period.
